GO! “Vitality Interactive Training Series”
Press Release
Issued: March 2008
208 Entertainment Inc.
Let’s face it…keeping up with trends in the constantly evolving world of Health & Fitness is a full time job these days. With hundreds of new concepts, fads and opinions being introduced to the public each year the process of achieving optimum health can become a very confusing and oftentimes frustrating experience. “How do we know what’s real”? A question so difficult it’s prompted many people to avoid fitness altogether as opposed to searching high and low for an answer.
“The fitness industry has gotten out of control in many ways” says Regan Rogerson, Director of 208 Entertainment Inc. and Executive Producer of the GO! Vitality Training Series fitness DVD’s. “It’s become oversaturated with “strictly business” minded manufacturers, whose dreams of mass production and maximum profit take centre stage over what should be equally important goals like product effectiveness, and contributing to the improvement of public health”. Rogerson feels that the attempt to cure fitness boredom has been the biggest advocate in creating the endless stream of what he calls commercial “gimmick” fitness products which promise guaranteed results, loads of fun, and little effort required. “I’m all for fitness being promoted as fun and I think it really has to be enjoyable in order to truly become a part of a daily routine. The problem is that the “all hype no substance” ineffective fads are becoming more prominent, than effective fitness products and proven methods.
What is Go?
The GO! Vitality Training 3 disc DVD series is a fitness product that Rogerson believes will definitely live up to its hype. Produced in 2007 and branded as one of the top 10 workout DVD’s in North America for 2008, the actual idea for the first installment in the GO! Fitness line goes back a few years. “We’ve been sitting on this for awhile now,” Rogerson jokingly admits, “When the original idea for creating a “No Gimmicks Needed” pure exercise video came up we figured it would be a very tough sell commercially. At that time with so many over the top, all sizzle/no steak DVD’s on the market it was almost unthinkable to promote your self without having a glamorous “catch” or fad product to go along. Finally after a few more years of watching countless fad workouts hit and leave the market, we finally decided the time was right to produce a no-nonsense, adrenalin pumping, pure fitness DVD series for people who truly want results.”
The Talent
In order to give the project credibility, the directors at 208 Entertainment recruited three of the top talents in the fitness industry today: Sharon Mann (Sears / TV's "In Shape with Sharon Mann"), Krista Popowych ("Caribbean Workout" TV Show), and International fitness presenter Geoff Bagshaw. Rogerson is very quick to sing the praises of the GO! Vitality Series talent, “Krista, Geoff and Sharon did an incredible job in the choreography for these DVD’s and watching their execution of the exercises for Vitality Series was very impressive. They are true masters of their craft”. He also mentions that the 3 Can Fit Pro Fitness presenters of the year are very close friends which made for an on-camera comradery one rarely sees. “Their comfort level with one another made for a more up close and personal look at their true personalities which is something you won’t find in other fitness DVD’s. It also made for some very comedic moments”.
How it works
A major factor in the success of the Vitality series workouts has been the state of the art Interactive Routine Design (IRD) function. “IRD” gives users the ability to design custom workouts from different combinations of exercises such as Muscle Conditioning, Kickboxing, Stability Ball, Circuit Training, Core Training, Hi Lo, Stretch, Low Impact, Step, Athletic Training, Boot Camp,
Yoga, Tai Chi, Flexible Strength and more. “Unlike most fitness DVD’s which run 20 - 35 minutes and have 1 workout, the Go! Vitality Series has over 500 customizable workouts and follows the principals of a training technique called “Muscle Confusion”. This is the method where one continually makes changes to his/her training routine in order to keep the body from adapting to a workout program. When your body is constantly shocked with new exercises and routines it cannot hit training plateaus and therefore will tone and firm at a substantially faster rate than normal.
“Our goal was to create a true fitness DVD in every sense of the word and in actuality we wound up creating 500 true fitness DVD’s for the price of one!” Rogerson added with a laugh. “I feel we have done our job by creating a more “personal” workout experience with incredible variety and unmatched user control.” Go! Vitality Series alleviates the boredom and monotony associated with most fitness DVD’s without losing touch with what’s important…helping people improve their overall health in a fun and timely fashion. Regardless of age or skill level, anyone who chooses to purchase this DVD will see incredible results because it’s the real deal and therefore very effective.”
